Forum Steglitz Berlin
REDEVELOPMENT OF AN ICONIC BERLIN SHOPPING CENTRE
When it opened in 1970, Forum Steglitz, in the Berlin district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf, was one of the first shopping centres in Germany. The architecture, distinct for the time, is characterised by a steel frame construction and a stringent geometric design language. The goal of the comprehensive redevelopment is to create a balanced mix of preservation and repositioning, which will provide office space on the upper floors, complemented by retail space below. Forum Steglitz is the first redevelopment of a large-scale former retail property into a sustainable and future-proof mixed-use property in Germany and will also be LEED Gold certified.
